Mary Fitzgerald Fox

Notes from interview August 26, 1998

Location - Her daughter Marion’s house in St. James, NY

Daughters – Marion, Frances, Margaret

Her other grandfather was an O’houlihan.

She was born in Woodside, Queens near the Kosciusko Bridge 8/18/24.

Her father, John, was a foreman at Cavalry cemetery.

Russell after the airplane plant on Long Island closed,  worked in Bangor, Maine.

He also worked at Kings Park hospital as an attendant for about 10 years.

Grandma Fox lived with Russell and Mary for a number of years. She would spend her time crocheting, watching TV, and reading.

She remembered GM Fox telling her that she once praised Albert for doing something well in school, but he said,

"Don’t start that … didn’t want any praise….I won’t do it again.

Uncle Joe got Russell a job putting in gas burners… she didn’t like that that work.

Mary worked in the school cafeteria (limited hours) when her children was growing up so she could be home with them in the morning and afternoon.
